Sutton's Bay

I love this town. It is full of charming shops and is a very pleasant place to spend a July afternoon.

My only complaint is that the town is divided by a highway one must navigate without aid of conveniences such as crossing lights. Our method of crossing is for me to grab THGGM's hand and remind him that I can no longer run.

This is one of my favorite shops. They carry Emma Bridgewater. They had some spotted mugs, which I wanted very badly. But it's so easy not to purchase expensive things when one doesn't have money.

And, I love those shops that put effort into making things attractive.



The flowers are prettier than anything the talented Emma Bridgewater could paint, and photographing them didn't cost me anything (thank you again, family, for the camera).

We didn't buy anything, except for three yards of hand dyed ribbon at a cute little antiques shop. Yes. I know. I'm perfectly capable of dyeing my own ribbon, but this was beautiful. And not terribly expensive.

The 'bay' part of Sutton's Bay is beautiful. It just started getting murky when we stopped to rest and take in the view.

This building overlooks the marina at the bay. What a lovely view they must have every morning able to see the sun rise over Sutton's Bay.
