Ten in Ten

Let's see.., can I come up with 10 random things in 10 quick minutes?   Maybe.., time will tell!

1.  The pictures are of Hertsje and Zeke.  They have a special relationship.  Every afternoon they have a lunch date.

2.  The thrift shopping Saturday was awful.  I bought a softball for 50 cents.

3.  That's not all bad, as I did need a softball.  But I wanted some dishes I've had my eye on for a few weeks.  Of course, once I decide to get them, they are gone.

4.  I'm moving everything around in my cupboards.  This began with moving my blue and white stuff from two of the three shelves in my kitchen corner cupboard.  It didn't show up well anymore, and I had a more practical need for storing dishes in there.  So far, I'm liking it.
 5.  Kado and Feintsje have been very sick with a virus.  Besides copious amounts of snot, they have viral pink eye.  One of Kado's eyes looks so bad that Jonge thinks he looks just like a zombie.  Feintsje's eyes were grossly stuck shut.  Poor little boys.  But they have improved with meds and a lot of love.

6.  I have the worst toothache I have ever had in my life.  This comes as no surprise.  Last year was THGGM's dental year, this one is mine.  But, I do not have an appointment yet.  These things always seem to happen on the weekend.  Hopefully I will get in soon.  And all prayers and good wishes are wanted and greatly appreciated.  Moaning helps.  So does a whole clove held against the inside of my cheek.  Well, it helps a bit, for a little while, and then I'm back to moaning.

7.  Since THGGM was in this predicament last year, he is being extremely kind and thoughtful.  When the time comes, I might even be able to convince him to kill me.

8.  Well, maybe not.  That's what I screamed while giving birth to Oldest Son.  And he wouldn't kill me then.  Maybe I'll be glad that he doesn't this time either. But it doesn't hurt to ask!

9.  My thanks go out to my blogging friend Tina.  The theme song to her life is "Brighten the Corner Where You Are".  Mine is "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen".  It's caused me to rethink the sound track of my life.  Maybe mine should be 'clean up the corner where you are' or 'nobody knows the messes i've made'.  Instead, I'm choosing to make it "It Is Well, With My Soul".  But it is not well with my tooth.  Thankfully, my tooth isn't eternal.

10.  Hell is a giant toothache.  I am rather sure of it.

Well, the sweet and kind THGGM is going to take me for a drive to the lake shore.  Here's hoping I can muster up sweetness and kindness in return.

Do you need a good dentist? Mine is Dr.Bernona Stevens. She is on Nixon and Remembrance in Walker. She is very good and very reasonable. Tell her Marlyn Erskine recommended you.
What kind of dishes are you looking for? I will gladly keep an eye out for you.

Judy, hope that tooth stops hurting and your appt. is in the very near future. Cute pic of Zeke and Hertjse. It is cold here. I am so ready for spring. I am not a summer girl but I do love spring and fall. I am done with winter.

I've been working up to a dental year for at least 10 years now. I. Hate. Dentists. And you DO have my sympathies. Been there. Too many times.

I tell my husband I'm saving up and just want to be admitted to the hospital and have them put me "under" and pull everything at once. I. Hate. Going to the Dentist. That's what I REALLY mean.

Poor dentists. It's not THEIR fault.

Ah Judy, your music theme for this week is maybe "hard times" withtwo sick grandchildren, plates sold not to you and the mother of all tootaches. You know the sons, I think it is lovely sung a capella and it just reminds me of the great duststorms (as if farmers are not in trouble right now, how come when a depression hits, farmers are the first ones forced to reduce their prices, while it is food we need the most in the end, not hardware or cars or "an newer one" of something, just water, a roof, warmth and FOOD. I'll stop lamenting, your toothache is hurtful enough. Please introduce your toothache to the virus of the boys, then play "steal away" to them, maybe they will get the nint. At leats, this way you will hear two songs I love and eventually the hard times went away! My father said of the seven meagre and the seven fat years: each generation will have hard times at least three times they can remember. With an everage ifespan of 60 to 65 years when he was born, that seems right; the first 10 years you won't remember it was a hard time, it would seem to be how life is, the last 10 years you would remember you had lived through a harder time then this last one. Then, to cheer you up, play What a wonderfull world by Fats Domino. Johan Cruyf, a reknown good Dutch footballer, has a typical way of explaining things, he declares "Every disadvantage has its advantage" Really, sounds mad, but if you are looking for a bright side, he is right almost every time. Loosing people to death or awkward diseases is not a disadvantage of course, it is pure heartbreak. So, maybe you shoudl search for the advantage of your toothache, which will be, a perfect set of teeth at the end of this year, because now you are fored to go to the dentist. Congrats on your husbands wages going up.DM

Might need to consider antibiotic for the tooth ache. Novacaine does NOT work in the presence of infection . . . you can take my word for it. If this is a possibility and the dentist knows you, they will probably call in a script for you.

(had an eptopic tooth growing off a back molar on the inner side, that meant NOTHING showed out of the ordinary on x-ray because original tooth hid e-tooth. roots of e-tooth were full size growing out side-ways and due to trying to break through roof of mouth caused swelling and infection. 20 shots of novacaine and them tapping away on a still fully sensitive area . . . I pleaded with them to pull it. Sent to Oral surgeon . . . IV and Knocked out . . .the surgeon had never seen anything quite like it once "both" attached teeth were out.)

If, an upper tooth . . . make sure your Sinuses are clear, they can increase pressure on you roots and increase your discomfort.

Good luck and hope EVERYONE feels better soon.
