Most years THGGM takes the week of Memorial Day off as it usually contains both our anniversary and my birthday.
It is the PERFECT week to go to Traverse City, MI as the crowds aren't too bad and the rates are great.
We found this room on Orbitz for $66 a night. View of the East Bay.
In the morning we did a bit of antique shopping and found a few treasures.
Then THGGM hit the beach. See that first picture? It is a HOLIDAY. He is the only one on the beach. And the weather was PERFECT.
See that second picture? That is how close my zoom lens gets. He's kind of cute still for an old man of 54. Well, at least I think so. When we are out and about, I look more like I am his mother.
So even though I was four stories up, I still felt rather close to him.
I happily stayed out of the sun on the balcony and thumbed through the pile of magazines I brought along, drew pictures in my journal, and ate that AMAZING Hiker's Mix from Cherry Republic.
Later in the day we went out for dinner and then drove north to the lovely little town of Elk Rapids.
Again, it was a HOLIDAY and the beach was almost empty. Just a few VERY nice groups of kids fishing, playing volley ball, and generally just having fun.
And LOOK! We found this on the beach, on our anniversary!
I am sure it was meant just for us.
But then, we also found this.
I hope that wasn't meant for us.
Everything was blooming, beautiful, and smelled so spring-like.
I love Elk Rapids.
I also love the "blemish remover" on PicMonkey.com, as it allowed
me to remove the dog pooh that was on the walk way by these beautiful flowering trees.
And the Elk Rapids beach is exceptionally beautiful.

Happy anniversary, just great, a non-crowded beach, stunning sunglasses wordn by your DH gorgeous himself. Think of that fish in a possitive way, a dinnerfeast for many birds instead of carcas. Blooming cherries are beautifull. DM
Happy Anniversary to you both.
You two are just so cute. The picture of the fish carcass thrown in there and your comments... Wry wit, my friend.
May you have many returns of the day.
Blessings,
Jen
