It was cool and rainy most of the day.
We lounged around our hotel room all morning.
When we finally did head out, it was to buy fudge (i did not eat any!) and to do a bit of looking around at an upscale designer shop.
Maybe we should have skipped doing that, as they had such lovely things. We both ooohhed and aaahhed to nearly the point of hyperventilating.
Which of course led to our becoming very hungry.
So we went to Don's Drive-In.
It just has so much nostalgic charm!
And the food was as good as you would expect it to be.
THGGM got the foot long chili dog.
I got the grilled ham and cheese on rye.
Next we drove around trying to find a particular antique mall which ended up not being there anymore. That was kind of sad. But we found a few other cute shops in the warehouse district which had great stuff. And I do mean GREAT stuff. Lots of hand made art. The kind of stuff that had I done it it would have looked like a bad craft project, but when done by an artist - as these were - looked fantastic. At least that is how everything at The Red Dresser seemed to me!
I bought a really cool white bird there.
After that we went back to the hotel room and hung out there for the rest of the gloomy day. It was that GOOD kind of gloomy day, the kind when you feel tired and have nothing to do but rest and relax! Sigh.., oh vacation.., how I miss you...

Dear Judy,
Your trip sounds just perfect to me, from the stops right down to the eats.
Don's looks like a fabulous place to stop. Mom and Pop places win, hands down to me, nearly every time.
Thanks for sharing the pictures from your adventure.
Blessings,
Jen
P.S. You should have had that handsome hubs take a picture of you too.
