Today I Am:

Wearing:  Jeans and a striped tee-shirt and warm socks

Reading:  A novel by David Grayson.  I first heard of him from an anthology of Christmas stories.  I love his story "A Day of Pleasant Bread".

Watching:  I'm all caught up on my Christmas movies so tonight I watched Antiques Roadshow.

Playing:  Still playing at "tweaking" my Christmas decor.  These pictures are of a diorama I started a few years ago.  This year I added the tea-light at the top.

Eating:  Ugh.  I'm done with eating.

Drinking:  Chamomile tea.

Wondering: I am wondering why everyone seems to be in such a hurry to take down Christmas decor.  I love it and would leave it up all year if I could.  As it is, I decorate with mostly white lights, bottle brush trees, greens, and pinecones and think they work well all through those dark nights of winter.

Praying:  Without ceasing, for peace on Earth, goodwill to men.

Making:  I got a Spirograph for Christmas, so you can guess what I'll be doing...

Perusing:  The new issue of Somerset Life and Country Living British Edition.

Planning:  We are hosting a sleep-over for the oldest four grandchildren tomorrow night.  I do believe it is quite possible that THGGM and I are even more excited about this than the grandkids are.  When they wake up not only will it be a new year, but it will also be Jonge's EIGHTH birthday!

Feeling:  Extremely blessed with the wonderful family God has blessed me with.

Judy - Your diorama is simply beautiful! I keep looking at it because it is so pretty. I usually am one of the take-decorations-down-fast people. This year I am leaving them awhile because I am enjoying them so much. It's fun to see what you are up to with thrift shopping/crafting/grandkids. You ARE blessed and you know it! :ovely blogpost, Judy/. i am listening with my left ear to Province groningen radio op 50 sung numbers and with my right ear to 100 Frisian! sung top 100 songs, at this moment In nije dei sung by Siep and the Kast (look it up, it was the coming home 2000 song of Fryslân) I enjoyed the Bloeske mei 15 knoopjes also. I do not do Christmasdecorations so much for Advent, just take in one or two things after Sinterklaas 5 Dec. But I do enjoy the Twelve night of Christmas and take decorations most of them down after 6 of January. I do think I have deciphered the strange sentence of the Partridge in the Peartree. Partridges are shy birds. I think it must have been an old saying when winters were cold and there was almost no food to find for wild animals and birds: It is really hard times outside, I saw a parttridge in the pear tree. If a partridge came so close to hte houses you could see it in the orchard, hunger must have been extreem to wild birds. As a Dutch inhabitant of course we question strange things we hear in tales and songs from outside our borders like they do with our songs and tales. Like "witte wieven" white old women who were supposed to hang above moors and heather. It turned out it was mist or the dwaallichtjes, doling lights, which were moorgasses spontaneous combusting. I like to know the truth, the tale seems to get better by knowing the how and why. Liten also to Fries om utensby Rolling Home, it is the Frisian of Caledonia, it is on place 5, it also was in the top100 sung by a real Scot, who sung in Frisian, John Wright He passed away a few yers ago. I wish you all a geart entry into 2014. DM
