Memorial Monday

On Memorial Day THGGM and I drove up Michigan's Mission Peninsula.  In the next field over from my favorite barn EVER was a lovely orchard in full bloom.  Of course, I am a lover of dandelions, so those made me happy too!

It's a shame dandelions are considered weeds. They can be pretty in a field like this one.

Dandelions would, if they had a hardy stem, long ago been planted and "made even better and bigger" as vase flowers, because, they are beautiful in the fields, picked by young children for mama as a bunch or on their own, what a beauty that flower is. (pity about the sticky gum the stems give of, rub with some oily substance to clean little hands). DM
