On Friday Daughter-in-law 1 defended her dissertation and is now Dr. Daughter-in-law 1. Although we all knew she would knock it out of the park we are all very proud that she did just that! She will officially graduate from Western Michigan University in June. THIS truly got the weekend off to a GREAT start!
On Saturday morning we all gathered to celebrate Mother's Day at Daughter's house. Son-in-law made breakfast for all us. It was absolutely delightful! I had an omelette made to my specifications, a waffle with fruit, bacon, and potatoes.
This picture is of my gift from the kids. A FIRST ADDITION book from my very most favorite author. I LOVE it! And them. They are truly the best. I started reading it last night and just a few chapters in I am hooked. Just like I knew I would be.
Saturday afternoon THGGM took me to Hunan for a late lunch. Could there BE a better Saturday? Of course, we also went thrift shopping and to Michael's, because if I didn't do that it wouldn't feel like Saturday. And, I got see all six grandchildren AGAIN in the evening.
Today I am participating in my NEW favorite hobby, SITTING! But on this day I am not JUST sitting, I am sitting and reading, sitting and altering photographs, sitting and drinking coffee, sitting and visiting with THGGM, sitting and planning for the week. But truly, the emphasis is on sitting today. It's just so much FUN to do something that I am sooo good at! The day is still rather young, so I just might stand, and maybe walk around a bit.
