Yesterday Famke got sick at school, so spent the rest of the day resting at my house. Thankfully, she felt much better as the day went on. We played with puzzles, and Famke and I looked through the American Girl Doll holiday catalog while Feintsje played with his trucks.
I am very happy with the quality of the American Girl doll, but OH MY GOODNESS, I cannot imagine spending THAT kind of money on all those accessories. I could not do that. But, oh, how cool would it be to play with Kit's bed, typewriter, and roll top desk? Although I do believe that I've seen old typewriters and even solid oak roll top desks that are regular size for about the same price. Hmm. Much to ponder here...

Would You Look At This?
Look closely at the top three pictures. It is a bunch of daffodils growing THROUGH a dried up leaf.
I find this amazing. Wouldn't you think that the daffodils would have just pushed the leaf up? Or that the wind, and it has been very windy, would have blown it off?
But, no. New life pushes right on up through the dead. And death makes way.
So much to ponder about this.., so much to ponder...

Nature in My Yard
.jpg)
It was windy today. Was it windy by you?
This is Zeke, with his fur blowing in the wind..jpg)
A spider. There is an even bigger one dangling in front for my dining room window. As long as it stays OUTSIDE, I find it interesting.

Today I found a tiny baby bird bobbing around in the lawn. Zeke paid no attention to it. I'd seen one a few days earlier. Not sure if they've been blown out of a nest, or what. It made me feel so very sad. Life is extremely fragile. For every living thing.

Pondering Thursday

This book came today. Since it's arrival I've been perusing the pages. LOVE the art of Tasha Tudor. LOVE it.
Today I've been pondering why it takes me so long to accomplish things. I'm sure it is because I don't have any HUGE project underway, just hundreds of small ones. Those hundreds of small projects jumbled together take a looong time.
Anyway..,
Poor little Famke had an accident today (at her house). She fell off a swivel desk chair and injured her chin and cheek on the pointed corner of a desk. It pains me to know of a child in any kind of pain.
I've had to turn off the news with the graphic pictures coming out of Haiti. I can pray without ceasing without seeing.
Famke enjoyed getting many 'princess' themed Christmas gifts. Her great aunt and uncle gave her a set of several princess shoes. She adores them. And the shoes. Her preferred method of playing with her new footwear is to wear them with only a diaper. Her name for herself? Princess Nakeders.
Another gift was a princess watch from her mommy and daddy. Although, she does not call it a watch. She calls it her Nine O'clock.
There was more I wanted to write here.
But, I just cannot.
ALL injured two year olds need a mommy's arms around them tonight. Sadly, many will not have that. It's just all soooo sad.
