I had two pair of capri pants with elastic wastebands that went crunchy. Knowing myself as I do, I knew that I would NEVER replace the elastic so I cut them apart to make reusable market bags.
Or so I thought. I never got around to doing that. Because the cut-off legs looked SO much more interesting.
And Sister Elizabeth has been sitting around in the same onesie for months now.
All the cut-off leg needed to turn into a remarkably cute dress (i used to have one like this about 32 years ago) were two slits for the arms. I thought about sewing down the arm holes, but why? If this one rips I have three more.
One thing lead to another, as one thing is wont to do.
There was a cotton crocheted hat.
Then, an experimental flower from my days of making make-up removing cloths.
The two teamed up quite nicely with the dress.
There were even shoes! That matched!
I filled the bowl with eggs from Franklin Mint.
So that was a bit of my day today.
THGGM got home much earlier than usual and we ventured out for a bit of thrift shopping and to use my 50% coupon at Michael's. I bought two white restaurant plates for 25 cents, the Klutz magnet book that still had the magnets attached, and a cute little summer dress for Hertsje at the thrift store. At Michael's I bought more wool yarn with my coupon and a pad of deeply discounted K&Company paper which I have already used to cover a half dozen recycled cans.
When we returned home dinner was waiting for us in the crock-pot.
Oh, and I spent a considerable amount of time taking pictures of things to list on Ebay this weekend.
How does this look?
I put a child's chair on my coffee table in the living room.
Over the chair is draped one of THGGM's work shirts.
The light from the living room window seems to be the best.
