These are the four hymns.
Be Thou My Vision, Come Thou Fount, Immortal Invisible, and All The Way My Savior Leads Me.
THGGM bought the four frames years ago and had painted them white. I like them better done in black. He paid $3 a piece for the (very nice) frames. He had the paint from another project.
The mats were considered a Christmas item at Michaels. This meant they were deeply discounted after the holidays. I believe the mats ended up being 69 cents a piece.
The paper was on sale for 29 cents a sheet. Although, when I do it again, I'll use linen resume paper.
I stippled brown ink in an attempt to antique it a bit. I was tempted to collage them, but THGGM made a frowny face at the mention of that. I think I will work on four Christmas songs and collage those. Then I can just pop these out of the frames and add something more artsy for next Christmas.
Maybe.
I want to find a small cross that would fit in the middle of them all.

What a lovely idea! They do look so very nice!
Oh I really like those! Just so pretty - I should do something like that! Those mats would match my furniture.
I like your idea of framing favourite hymns. One of my favourites also is Come Thou Fount. I learned it in Grade 2 and never understood the line: "Teachmesomemelodioussonnetsungbyflamingtonguesabove". I finally discovered that it was actually a sentence with individual words when we sang it once in church.
I have this wild fantasy of someday having a music room where I can paint a music staff border and paint on the music and words to Lynn DeShazo's "Be Unto Your Name". I love the line 'You are the love song, we'll sing forever'.
THGGM probably wouldn't go for it though. His wild fantasies and my wild fantasies differ grately.
Holy Smokes...what a great idea.
I'm going to do this too.
Hmmmm...now to make a list of my favourite songs.
