It's Monday. Vacation is over. Life as I know it resumes.
Baby Boy came today. He seems much older, somehow. We had a brief moment of 'battle of the wills', but I am not one to fall for an argument with a 17 month old. He began to pitch a fit, so I just left the room. I can tell that he is frustrated with the level of communication at which he is presently. He stopped his little fit, walked through the doorway into the room I was in, put a big smile on his face, waved and said "HI!" in a cheery little voice.
I am reading "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm". Trying to stay 'cheery', I am. So far, I am really enjoying it. I was sure I had read it, but I think I was mistaken. Nothing in it seems familiar. Now I wish for a pink parasol from Paris.
We put a bid on a house the day before we left on vacation. It wasn't accepted. I was beginning to feel little pangs of excitement about what I could do with the TOTALLY pink 'main' bathroom. Pink tile on the floor, pink tile on the walls and I kid you not - pink sink, toilet and bath tub. Pepto-abysmal pink. I liked it.
The "See No" monkeys that I had broke on Mother's Day. Since they were only a dollar a piece, I was surprised that they lasted as long as they did. In one of our antiquing forays I found the ones pictured above. They remind me of the ones MY grandma had. I was happy to snap them up, and they are now safely posing in front of a picture of my three kids from a few years ago.
That reminds me... I also picked up another copy of "The Bird's Christmas Carol" which I just remembered is ALSO by Kate Douglas Wiggin. I bought this one because it was in a lovely shade of aqua, like so many of the vintage Christmas ornaments I have. I was VERY surprised to find it at such a great price. Probably because it had a bit of damage. But, I do remember that I paid $12.00 for the one I have, only to discover it was missing several pages. This one was much cheaper, and it is all there.
Daughter has tomorrow off, and is taking me out to lunch for my birthday. This birthday has been wonderfully 'spread out'. She also kept up the tradition of making a 'birthday poster', something that began in our family twenty-one years ago. I have it pictured on my Inky Fingers blog, if you care to see her adorable drawing! www.judyh58b.blogspot.com
Last but not least, my dad found himself in a tangled mess with a 'free' offer he had thrust upon him. Thankfully, THGGM was able to undo it for him today. I am so ANGRY with people who prey upon older people.
That's it for Monday. I'm wrapping it up tightly and putting it away. Maybe I'll think about it tomorrow.

I've been entirely too busy to properly visit here. And I've missed it. Happy belated birthday, and have fun with your budding toddler. I expect several of my own willfull challenges today...
Dear Judy,
Oh how funny--I have that pink bathroom you just described-including the pink sink, toilet and tub--I kid you not!!!
