Moving Right Along...

If you are sick of hearing me talk about packing, just imagine how sick I am of doing it!

Oh.., what a 'vacation'.

Actually, THGGM is having a wonderful time. Every afternoon he sneaks off to Daughter's pool for an afternoon of floating around in an inflatable raft. He deserves it. He's put in a lot of work around here this week.

Yesterday I got whacked 'upside the head' with a migraine. I knew it was coming when Mr. McFeely's "Speedy Delivery" song became lodged in my head. Arghhh.

Today I have successfully packed up all of my 'good china'. I have a lot of it, so I had plenty of time to think about it as I wrapped it up carefully. It certainly isn't expensive china, but I really like it. I first saw it in an issue of Country Living over a decade ago. It has a great vintage 1940's look, and I remember thinking that if I ever bought china, that was what I would want. A few years later, it was discontinued and we were able to buy most of it for 75% off. It was our 20th anniversary present to ourselves.

Even though THGGM is on vacation this week, he has gone to work every day to pick up boxes. As fast as he brings them in, I fill them! I feel restless as soon as the empty boxes are gone. What to do.., what to do...

By this evening I shall have all seven of my 'new' bookshelves packed into boxes. I'm trying to sort them in a reasonable fashion, but THGGM would prefer that I add a mixture of hardcover and paperback to each box. I cannot imagine why.

My plan is to get everything moved into the garage at the 'new' house and unpack one box a night for the next several years. Oh...you think I'm kidding...

We are one week from closing.

One week and one day until Oldest Son and Daughter-in-law move back to this area.

Got to go...

Have to pack up my 'Dutch stuff' this afternoon.

I'm tired. My head hurts, but I refuse to whine!

(tomorrow, that is. i refuse to whine tomorrow. today? my head really does hurt...and i feel as if i am years behind in sleep...and i feel exceptionally whiny...and that 'speedy delivery' song is still playing in my aching head)

Oh. I had one of those headaches yesterday and it followed me into today but then I had an allergic reaction that nearly closed my left eye and puffed up my right one and somehow my headache went off to the sidelines to sulk - I can feel him complaining back there but...

I am putting up the honest fight - I went to bed as soon as the girls were in bed last night and I just got up from a two hour nap. Now I am trying to write an article and trying to convince myself to figure out the next step for getting my pictures hanging in a coffee shop somewhere. I've got some matted and framed and they look great but now I am procrastinating.

I think I will go write.

Good luck as you continue with the packing. I cannot begin to imagine how I would ever pack up this house. My husband has been making noises about wanting to look for a different house. I cannot even hear it. I told him the only way I'm goin' out of here is feet first.
