Random Thoughts

That's all I've got. Random Thoughts.

My dad called this morning. Did I mention that at his doctor's appointment Friday he was able to skip an injection due to how well he has responded to the prostate cancer treatment? This is good news. How did I miss that?

He also told me that yesterday my mom was the best he has seen her since she has been in the nursing home. When he arrived yesterday, she was at the hymnsing, singing. They had a wonderful visit. Of course, I chose not to go yesterday as I was home, attempting to relax.

I am reading a Faith Baldwin book. Can't remember the name of it. It is a lovely shade of red and has an embossed cover. That was enough for me when I bought it. Oh, and since I love Gladys Taber, and Gladys Taber used to live close to Faith Baldwin and would visit her from time to time I thought I owed it to Ms. Taber to give it a read. Too many cowboys for my taste, but I'll finish it, I'm sure.

Today I am wishing that I had a neighbor like Milly Helper from the Dick Van Dyke Show. I can't exactly explain why, but I do. I thought about Dick Van Dyke because I just nearly missed falling over a foot stool. We have them everywhere. THGGM collects them. We two are sick with our collections of what-have-you.

Jonge has just become a fan of 'games'. No one is quite sure what constitues a 'game' for him. Although we do know a few things that it DOESN'T mean. So far, it seems it's one particular Mickey Mouse match game. Today I hope to regal him with an assortment of other games. One is a fishing game, and one is a match the parent to the child animal puzzle.

Famke's favorite game is called "Hold Me". It involves me holding her, or else. It's a good thing that I love this game! We are both winners.

My favorite game, besides finding the cheapest finds at thrift and antique stores, is playing on-line Scrabble with Oldest Son. He always wins. He did point out to me this week that when he wins, it is also a victory for me, as I am the one who taught him to read and write. Quickly, I pointed out to him that now I will also feel guilty when I win, as it means that he lost.

And I wonder what's wrong with me.
