For the second half of the festivities, we moved to the basement which THGGM had been working on for weeks to get it just right.
We drew names a month ago, and it wasn't until tonight that we became aware whomever's name we had drawn, they had our name too!
Weird. I wonder what the odds of that happening are? Jonge and Famke were very excited to open presents, but waited patiently until all the grown-ups had opened theirs.
Famke was EXTREMELY excited. When she is excited it is hilarious. It appears that everyone was thrilled with their gifts! Famke delighted in gift-giving, and even snatched up other people's gifts to re-give. Soon it was their turn.
Jonge even enjoyed getting new clothes. Especially 'comfy' clothes, as he calls them.
Famke thought that she would join in too, but once her clothes came off, she preferred to remain, in her words, "Nakeders". Her mommy insisted that she put on her pretty new clothes, but she insisted on remaining "Two more nakeders."
Good times. It was fun. We'll have to do it again next St. Nicholas Eve.
I do believe that I got the BEST gift of all! Gift certificates to my TWO favorite thrift stores.
