She Makes a Declaration

Could it be? I do believe so!
I'm ALL better!
Truly, I am thankful for this, as Daughter had the same thing and hers has gone into a deep and painful sinus infection requiring the 'big guns' from the pharmaceutical department.
Last week Tuesday I felt bad for having to miss the hymn sing at the nursing home, but they were all sick with it too, and the hymn sing did not happen.
So, today I got up at my 'usual' usual time and tweaked things around the house, did laundry, watched grandkids, visited with Daughter, visited with Youngest Son, went to the nursing home and am now anticipating a lovely evening of catching up on things.
A funny thing happened at the nursing home. If I recall, it happened one other time since my mom has been there, too.
My mom and I always sang together in the church choir. She could never hold her own book, because she shook too much. So, either I or some other kind alto would have to hold the book for her.
At the nursing home they can no longer give her a book because she likes to rip them up. The nursing home people do not like for their books to be ripped up. SOMETIMES, my mom can get very agitated about not having a hymn book. Today, she reached for the one I had. She seemed calm and relaxed, so I let her take the corner of it.
Then, just for fun, I started shaking and hopping that hymn book all over the place. At first she looked surprised, then she looked me straight in the eyes and started to laugh. It was like someplace deep inside of her remembered that even when she COULD hold the music, she could not.
Ahhh. It feels good to feel better. Now, if I could only get caught up.
