Sloooowly But Surely

THGGM was able to get quite a bit done in the kitchen this weekend. It has been a slow process. But I am happy to report that there is no more vine-y print wallpaper over there.

And all the stuff from the walls and shelves over there are on this great shelving unit that THGGM found in Wisconsin last week. I'm getting SO excited to arrange things on those shelves just how I want them, but I'm going to have to wait. Aren't they great? I love them! Obviously, so did THGGM. He wrestled them into our Malibu and we drove right on through Chicago with it hanging out of our trunk. Thankfully, it was a warmish day. Our resemblance to Ma and Pa Kettle was astounding, I'm sure.
On our drive down on Wednesday we had stopped at IKEA. There we found a nice shelving unit for $49.99. The plan was to pick it up on our way home.
Instead, this lovely piece of furniture already put together (and a great piece of recycling - don't you think?) was in a booth at an antique mall that had everything marked 75% off.
So next week the wallpapering begins!

Now these types of things just make my day, a great shelf and getting rid of unwanted wallpaper.
Hal just stripped the wallpaper off my ugly bathroom, and now it's not nearly as ugly. Oh the things that bring us such joy!
