Thanks for all of your help with how to get a dog to take pills.
What finally worked this morning was to crush the pills and roll them in cream cheese. Zeke did not seem pleased to just eat it, so I used a fork and pressed it into his front paw, right where he lays his head.
The boy does not like anything sticky on his fur.
He licked it off. Twice.
It's obvious that he is still in pain, but at least he is now walking using both legs, and the crying has stopped.
THGGM just let him inside, as they were both napping in the backyard.
THGGM had jury duty this afternoon. They didn't want him, as it turns out.
Our dryer broke over the weekend (it was NOT a good weekend). With a bit of investigating THGGM was able to ascertain what was wrong, order the part on line, watch a You Tube video on how to fix it, and get it running perfectly again. He is amazing.
Has anyone else noticed that I do not handle stress well at all? Ugh. I don't. Stress also makes me dream weird things. One night this week, a night when I didn't think I'd slept at all, the alarm woke me just as I was joining a Conga Line in a bunny suit. I was angry because a friend of mine had the bunny suit like Ralphy wore in A Christmas Story, and MY bunny suit was brown, open in the back, and didn't have feet.
Dreams are weird.
But then, so am I.

cream cheese and dogs hating sticky things, I will remember that trick. Where would we be if there was no web or tube, we would have to buy new very often, because the cost of local engineers is getting higher and higher, well, they have to earn a living too, I know. I do not handle stress well, too, only if I can be hands-on I can manage, afterwards I collaps. Sick child, sick pet, I feel sick too. DM
I don't handle stress well, either. Maybe that is why I am depressed.
I'm so glad to hear your doggie is feeling better and that it isn't anything too serious : )
Judy,
Until now, I had never made a correlation between stress and weird dreams. You may be on to something there.
The cream cheese is a brilliant idea, even without the paw involvement, but cream cheese ON the paw....no wonder we call you Judy-the-amazing. You didn't know? Yes, those of us in blogland think of you and sometimes refer to you as, Judy-the-Amazing and other equally as descriptive terms...Creative, loving, kind.
Happy Mother's Day to wonderful you.
Jen
