Hertsje In Sepia Tones

Hertsje opened one of the drawers in my secretary today.  She was expecting to find puzzles, but instead she found a doily.

Immediately she knew exactly what to do with it.

On her head it went, while she softly said something that sounded like "hat on".
 I mean REALLY!

Doesn't she just look like she is from another time?

What?  You don't see it?  Let me enlarge this picture for you.

Oh, yes.  She is a little Dutch girl.

I'm sure you are surprised that she is not sporting the wooden shoes.

We'll save that for another day.
The sepia tones really cast an old-fashioned feel to these pictures.

She awoke from her afternoon nap with really bright red checks.  The sepia tones took care of that, but I added just a hint of pale blush to her checks in these photos.

Today she did quite a bit of walking on her own.  I'm not surprised, as she is well on her way to conquering the world.
And with those dimples, big blues eyes, and happy personality, she is well on her way to doing just that.

She has already conquered her Pake and me.

That Hertsje ia true to her name. Over here we would surely sometimes call het : Hartedief. Translated: Thief of Hearts. Lovely sepia pictures. We have skating ice over here, only on parkingplaces and iceskatemeadows. meaning we make dykes around the P-lots and a small meadow, like 100 times 80 metres and then we pump water over them. When it freezes hard enough and the ice is at least 5 cm. thick, skating can start. My husband is the icecontroller and he was on local TV day before yesterday. Oh, how nice it feels when people in my village tell me I have a handsome husband. Allthough I am told several times our sons are handsome, this is a new one. Me, I am just below average. How nice part of your grandchildren have moved nearer to your house. DM

The sepia pictures are really beautiful and what a beautiful little subject, she does look from another time. My niece just had a baby girl last week and I was in heaven getting to hold her. Unfortunately they live 1 hour away! I saw her again this week and felt amazed at how much she had grown and how much more alert she was in just one week.
