Today I Am:

Wearing:  Black jeans and a black and white striped knit shirt.  Still no socks.

Reading:  You Are Not So Smart, by David McRaney.  This book is very interesting.  It seems like I've been reading it forever and I am not even halfway.  In the 'on deck circle' are several other books that this one has lead me to.  But, I am sure that in a week I will put all that on hold to begin reading Christmas books.

Watching:  This week I've watched Lincoln at Gettysburg, which I plan to watch again soon.  And THGGM and I have been watching many of the Kennedy Assassination shows (shows?  there must be a better way to say this) this week.  I had to take a break from that.

Playing:  I play a lot of Scrabble on Facebook.  I like to get Bingos.  My children are all better players than I am.

Eating:  Tonight I ate Chicken Alfredo from Pizza Hut.  Don't judge me.

Drinking:  Diet Coke.  I really like the snowflake pattern on the holiday cans.

Wondering:  I am wondering where this week has gone. Where does the time go?  I wonder about time a lot.  I even wonder if you wonder about that.  Time IS wonderful, but wondering about time takes time.

Praying:  Today I felt such a need to pray for those people who are suffering from things in their lives that are impossible to share because it isn't only their story.  This reminded me to be aware of those inner promptings when someone comes to mind for no apparent reason.  And even though the book I am reading (and greatly enjoying!) would tell me there is a scientific basis to everything I think, I will remain in awe of those mysterious things that cannot, nor need not, be explained.

Making:  Today I made two angel ornaments.  Just two.  I was going for six, but like everything else I touch things were more messy and complicated than I had anticipated.  The two I made took nearly all day to complete, although you would never guess that by looking at them.

Perusing;  I'm looking through stacks of old (some VERY old) Christmas magazines.  I do this every year at this time.  Sometimes reading the ads is more entertaining than the actual features.

Planning:  Getting my list in order for Thanksgiving dinner.  I have already washed my dishtowels for rolling up the pumpkin rolls.  They are in a safe location until Wednesday night.  One year I thought the pumpkin rolls tasted suspiciously like Downy Fabric Softener, so I planned ahead to avoid that.

Feeling:  Excited for Thanksgiving!

Hi, I have been watching the Kennedy items too. There are too many theories. I have seen one which mentioned the possibility of O.s bullet going through a high on roadsign (long since removed) which would account for the strange way the bullet took. IU also watched yesterday evening : The lost tapes. I think we never knew O was also considered shooting a policeman.I know where I was, 15 and my brother 24 and laughing and chatting with our mother. We visionised children born as grown-ups, having to be deflated and folded up to be able to be born, one of the happiest evenings (we are 8 hours advanced on your east coast) and then we turned on the news! We landed crashing on earth, suddenly all was not well with the world (which we tried to think after the Cuba event). It was and still is a shock (younger people should think about Diana;s accident and its impact).
I have been buying cheap porcelain dolls, just for their clothing. P need those for patterns or to put directly on my own, mostly thrifted, teenage dolls, not b ar bies, but reality teenage dolls without an overload of make up, sold in the late sixties, which I (and internet buyers) consider at least ten times better. They did not smell smoky, but the water I washed these clothes in turned tobacco in no time at all. Lesson learned, things do not smell anymore the same they are (defumer cans). The dolls bodies will be thrifted again or given to elders homes, because they are fantastic children to be clad with knitted clothes, a change from baby doll clothes.Happy Thanksgiving, DM
