On Monday, Hertsje graduated from kindergarten!
Oh my, how fast the time speeds by...
So to celebrate THGGM and I took Hertsje and Broeder to Meijer Gardens for the afternoon.
Hertsje had only been there to see the butterflies, on a day it was too cold to go outside.
So all of this was new to her.
Her brother had a WONDERFUL time showing her all of his favorite places, which quickly became her favorite places too!
She loved the boats and the fish in the replica of the Great Lakes.
Thankfully, it was warm enough to get wet, as wet they got!
Nets, and buckets, and strings of fish aplenty made for exciting fun.
And boats! Let's not forget all the boats.
Strangely enough, for it being such a gorgeous afternoon it was very quiet and uncrowded when we were there.
See what I mean about getting wet?
If you go there, DO plan on getting wet.
It happens.
I don't think they are quite ready to learn about the differing sizes and depths of the Great Lakes, they can process that knowledge later!
I do find it all fascinating
Siblings.
We let them wonder around discovering things to do on their own.
Both of them excel at figuring out how stuff works.
And if they weren't already wet enough -
MORE water!
They took turns pushing the button which caused water to spray out from different rocks.
Have I mentioned lately that the Grandparents Membership to the gardens has been a WONDERFUL investment that MORE than paid for itself in our first two visits?
We've lost track of how many times we've been here and we still have two and a half months of summer to go before renewal time.
