Way back in 1999, I had this Stampin' Up! Catalog sent to me from someone I met who was also interested in stamping.
I SO badly wanted these four lace stamps. Very badly. Drooled, even.
But, I had no money. And, if I did I could not spend it on four lace rubberstamps as I had three children living at home. Three hungry teenaged children. I think we even had an extra one living with us at that time.
One year later THGGM lost his job. Then we had even less money. My friend and neighbor from church, Christa, had a Stampin' Up! party at her house. She invited me because she knew I stamped. I went. I booked a party from Christa's so I got the catalog for free.
Sadly, three of the lace stamps were no longer available. Now, if you know anything about Stampin' Up! they have a fabulous incentive program. I got the one remaining lace stamp.
I've always longed for the other three. Now it is 2006. While sitting on my computer, surfing for the book "The Bird in the Tree" (something else i've longed to own) I thought I'd check out the rubber stamps on eBay. Well. Well, well well.
So, I am presently the very happy owner of all four of those lace stamps. Thanks to eBay!
I'm still not any richer, but, stamps are my tools. And, someday I just might have the time to sit down and actually USE my four nice lace stamps. When I do, you can bet you will see them on my Inky Fingers blog.
It's true, what 'they' say. I think I like them even more since I had to wait for them.
You can even call me shallow, pathetic, I don't even care. I have the four lace stamps!
And you don't.
(but if you want them, check out ebay!)

lol...that's so funny I can almost see you sticking your tongue out, all pleased with yourself. :-)
All things come to those that wait I understand...so glad you proved that to be the case in this event!!
I love ebay! You can find anything there. Our local paper had a story about a guy who collects yearbooks and sells them on ebay. Like I said - ANYTHING!
:)
We sold a bunch of crap that we were going to drop off at goodwill. We made $300. Sweet.
I'm glad you got those stamps! It was meant to be.
