Give Me an A!

Almost two weeks into the new year, and I'm still thinking about 2010. I feel as if I haven't put it properly to rest, yet.
But, 2011 marches on and I've no complaints about it.
Especially since 2011 will bring me another grandchild to love!
Jonge came on the run to get me yesterday, as his much beloved sister had made the letter "A" on the chalkboard. Her 'real' name starts with the letter "A".
Jonge was nearly breathless with joy. As you can see, Famke wasn't quite as excited.
But, we did manage to get her to pose for a quick picture.
In other news, I did FINALLY manage to watch the Pixar movie "UP". Have you seen it? I'm thankful that THGGM and Jonge had already seen it, and warned me about the sad parts. But, had I the ability to shed tears, I would have. Instead, as is my way, my upper lip swelled and I choked a bit.
Jonge held my hand. He said it would get happier.
Most things do. Most things do.

Oh Judy!
We watched 'Up' one night at family movie night at my daughter's school. Being a children's movie, I hadn't expected a whole lot. I can cry, and did. It reminded me of my own losses and ultimately how that things somehow turn out okay.
Your grandkids are so blessed to have you. I'm glad that your new grandchild has such a loving Grandma waiting. That's how it would be for every child in a perfect world. As it is, it warms the heart to know that people like you exist. God-willing, one day I'll be a Grandma like you, and love every minute of it.
Enjoy your day!

I ♥ your "voice". It has just the right blend of love, humor, common sense, and down-to-earth observations.

It's sweet that Jonge takes pride in his sisters accomplishments.
These things will need retelling someday. ;0)
