(Oh, look. Another doily.)
Another of my favorite things is a purchase we made in May.
Kado was continually banging his head on the blanket chest that we had been using as a coffee table.
It had to go.
THGGM found this round table in an antique store. He dragged me in to look at it. I DO love antique malls, but this one is a pit. I reluctantly looked at it, but it was sooo dirty. THGGM assured me he could clean it up, but I was not so easily convinced.

Then Kado banged his head one more time, and THGGM went back and purchased it.
It's a perfect table for reading books, coloring, playing with small toys, building things with blocks, having snacks, playing games, and playing "Mom and Dad". This was the chosen play for today. Playing mom and dad is a fun thing to witness.
Kado was "Dad".
Famke played the roll of "Mom".
Jonge was "Kid".
Soon after this scene they all disappeared to some place they called "Work".
I inquired about who was going to take care of the baby (notice foot at right of picture).
They consulted amongst themselves and decided that I would have to do it.
This table also works very well for putting ones feet up while one reads a magazine and feeds a pretend bottle to a doll.
And if the day ever comes when we can safely move the blanket chest back into the living room to use as a coffee table, I think it would be interesting to remove the legs from the round table and make a large clock out of the top to hang over the fireplace.

Oh no! I love those table legs. They would not like to be removed.
