From the Grand Traverse Lighthouse we traveled south to the town of Leland which is on Lake Michigan.
It has a quaint lakeside village called Fishtown.
We ate our lunch with a view of Fishtown, and the dam. Jonge and Famke had the good dam view.
They didn't seem as impressed with the dam view as Pake and I are.
Our lunch was eaten at The Cove, where the white fish and the coloring are excellent!
Why, even the imaginary food is delicious at The Cove!
That is the dam in Leland.
That is the Dam Candy Store.
Pake bought salt water taffy, Jonge and Famke picked out Jelly Bellies, and I had two caramels.
If you go to Leland, and to Fishtown, you really must take young children to the Dam Candy Store.
Because it's okay to say that you went to the Dam Candy Store. It really is.
When we set out in the morning, we really thought we were also going to go to Sleeping Bear Dunes. But when we left Leland at almost 5:00, we realized that we would need to do that another day.
But no one was sad, because Leland has a toy store which we then had time to visit and back at the hotel there would be time for more swimming!
