The last picture shows him at the age of 23.
There won't be a funeral. No visitation. THGGM's grandma didn't have one either, so I guess for them, it isn't strange.
It is to me.

My dad didn't want a funeral either. Seemed weird to me. I realized then the important function of a funeral is for the family to have opportunity to process the loss and feel love and support of others. Some folks don't see a need. Others find that stuff in other ways. Family dynamics are so very interesting.
my heart fills when I look at these pictures - so much was lost - so much was never even recognized because of the veil of falleness - it really does take God, doesn't it.
Was he ever diagnosed with clinical depression? So many people who try to "self-midicate" with drugs and alcohol are clinically depressed, and if they get the antidepressant they need can be spared so much misery.
It is so sad to see a beautiful live lost, and wasted.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
