P.J. Hoffmaster State Park is only about 45 minutes away.
When our children were young, we used to go once, sometimes twice a week from spring to fall. We also camped there.
They have a very nice nature center.
Jonge and Famke enjoyed it as much as their mommy and uncles did.
It LOOKS like the first lesson was "How Germs Are Spread".
It wasn't.
There are lots of turtles, cocoons, snakes, a few fish and taxidermied birds.
A perfect place for Jonge and Famke to wander around and just enjoy looking at interesting things.
There is a two story window that looks out to a small pond. Much to see there.

I have been reading your blog for some time now and had a question..sorry to post it here but I didn't see your email address anywhere. Do you have custody of your grandchildren? It seems that they are with you pretty much all the time. Just wondering..

My email address should appear if you click "My Profile", but I do not mind answering questions this way.
Jonge and Famke spend M W F with me most weeks.
They come to my house to play when their mom is working. They live with their mom and dad, but we enjoy their company! In fact, Jonge is here right now, spending the night.
Oh, and they have normal names. Jonge and Famke are kinda-sorta the Fresian words for boy and girl. Pake and Beppe are grandpa and grandma.
Thanks for delurking! I always wonder who reads here.
Hi Judy! I guess I will have to delurk also. I read every post on your blog. You have a wonderful sense of humor and we are migraine twins! It seems we have the same triggers for those terrible sick headaches. I am also a grandmother of one precious little girl and I enjoy your pictures and stories of Famke and Jonge. Grandchildren are truly one of God's greatest blessings! Have a wonderful Sunday!
