She Makes Stuff

Today I made these things!  I'm not exactly sure what they are, but I DO like them!  The idea came from something I saw on Pinterest.  Those were made like a snowflake - painted white - with a picture glued on the front.
Of course, since I do not have the patience to read and follow directions, I just did it my way.  These are made with five toilet paper rolls folded in half just in the middle.  I hot-glued them together, glued a leather button in the center and added some leather cording for a bow.  Not sure if I like the bow or not.
Time will tell, but I think I'm going to hang them on the glass doors of my china cabinet.
And these were UNBELIEVABLY quick and easy to make.  I did all three of them in less than 30 minutes and never even burned my fingers on the hot glue.
Ooo!  I just remembered that I have several large "lace" rubber stamps.  The next time I make these I'll have to roll the toilet paper rolls over the lace stamp first.
I feel the most alive when I'm making stuff.  Am I the only one?

Not so much alive as in a zone - where my mind can free-associate and think through things - rather like mowing the lawn or shoveling snow - I know those are unappealing comparisons but they are times when my thoughts are my own - a better comparison is taking a shower.

I feel most relaxed when I can make stuff.
Usually I'm way too busy.
I still have the scarf I'm making for myself that I started when my Dad stroked in Feb 2010. Granted I knitted several other things for other people, and did other projects for gifts, but my poor scarf still waits.
