Some Flowers from John Ball Park Zoo

The zoo also has beautiful flowers.

Here are a few pictures that I took, and then altered a little.

Weeds

Even weeds can be beautiful.

Especially when they are in someone else's yard.

Black Raspberry Goodness

Yum!
These beautiful black raspberries grow in daughter and son-in-law's backyard.

They taste amazing!
And they are sooo pretty too!

Amusing Myself

Once I again realized that watercolor painting is not my thing, and Feintsje prefers bathing dinosaurs and turtles, I went back to my favorite pass time - taking pictures of whatever is right in front of me, and then altering the heck out of them.  Have I mentioned lately what a wonderful time I am having?  If not, I am.  I am having a lovely time.

How Is YOUR 2015 Going So Far?

In my world, I am presently riding out "blizzard-like" conditions and trying to overcome a "flu-like" ailment.

It all held off until after the Christmas holidays.  For that I am deeply thankful.

This picture was taken at John Ball Park on the day we took our annual October family picture.

It's one of my favorites.

St. Francis

This picture was taken in the morning.

I found that the light was MUCH better in the evening, at least in the fall.

But I did get this picture, and I am glad I did.

Even More Weekend Pictures

The Grand Haven Pier from the channel side.

The snow fences are already up.

And there were birds.  I do like birds.

More Wonderful Weekend Wanderings

Now THIS is my kind of weather!
I could spend all day at the beach were it to always be like this.
The Grand Haven Pier.  It is beautiful here no matter what the weather.

What I Take Pictures Of

Grandchildren.

This is the very cute Broeder, probably wondering just what kind of a crazy family he was born into.

Yesterday I got to see him smile for the first time.  Well, not the first time he smiled, as he is a very content little boy.  But it was the first time I saw him smile, and it was amazing!
Flowers.

Even if they are considered by most to be weeds, I adore them.

This is also a very favorite color combination of mine -
white, green, and brown.
 Grapes.

To me, grapes just look like they are hanging around WAITING to have their picture taken.  And I love this shade of green.

These turned out very nicely in sepia tones also, so they may make an appearance again sometime soon.

Hopefully, I'll get some pictures of these in the fall also.
Cooks.

Daughter and DiL1 are roasting summer squash on the grill.

They also roasted corn on the cob still in the husks.

Both were amazing.

Both women are amazing too.
Tomatoes.

This tomato is very small.

Jonge brought it to me for me to eat, freshly picked.

But were I to have eaten it, what would I have to do while seated at the table?

So, since I had already eaten a half dozen tomatoes at lunch, I opted to photograph this one instead.

I also like taking pictures of shadows.

This works best if one does not use a flash.
Dogs.

This is blue-eyed Bethy.

She is very entertaining, cute, and photogenic!

Sepia Tones

These are pictures from our Friday at the beach.  I used Picmonkey.com and changed the pictures to sepia 10-15%.  I'm not sure what it is, but the sepia tones make me feel all nostalgic.
