Kissing Cousins

Some days, all you need is a baby to kiss!

Great Nephew

My sister came over this afternoon with her 1 1/2 year old grandson. Four children four and under make for a time that is never dull. Never.

Great Nephew has the MOST adorable little voice. He says A LOT, but it is EXTREMELY precious to hear him say "pleasepleasepleaseplease" when he wants something.

Enjoy!

Wonderful Wednesday

My sister came over today and brought her grandson.

We had library time! I did learn one thing. It's very hard to get a picture of children together if the table they are sitting at happens to be round.
And doesn't Great Nephew look JUST like Larry Mondello from "Leave It To Beaver" in this picture?? TOO CUTE!

The "Touch and Feel" books are a hit with the one year olds.

I'm sure that Kado is trying to figure out how he can get those fingers. Sometimes he snatches Famke's binkies and tries to see what all the fuss is about.

It is just sooo much fun to have Great Nephew come to play!
Famke happened to be napping during 'library time'. Maybe Jonge planned this? Maybe.

Monday

Monday.
It was one of those magical days that I wish could have gone on forever and ever.
I took a lot of pictures. I'm sure I'll be posting many.

Sweet Siblings

Don't they look like two sweet siblings sharing a 'moment'?
They are.
But, the REAL story here is that on their own they discovered just how fun it is to lay ones ear on someone else's check and listen to them chew.
Famke is concentrating deeply on chewing while Jonge enjoys the listening part.

I Knew This Day Would Come

Today while outside taking a walk, Jonge confided to THGGM that he thinks I just might be the snack fairy.

Jonge also has a good eye as a photographer. He took the picture of Kado.
Pictures of Famke are rare, as she does not hold still. Often there is a pink streak in my pictures. That is her. Or, maybe a pink arm, or the back of a pink shirt. She hasn't much desire to have her picture taken, but gets a weird sort of joy from jumping into pictures of other people.
Famke did learn a hard lesson today. She learned that it is not such a good idea to grab a toy out of Kado's hand. Kado yelled and lunged for her hair. It took some doing to unravel her hair from his tight little fists. Quite the feisty eight month old, Kado is.
He did get the toy back. And Famke moved on to bothering an even bigger brother.

About Monday

THGGM and I hosted our first ever Super Bowl party on Sunday night.
It makes me happy to report that I neither saw nor heard a bit of the game.
We also kept all three grand children overnight for the very first time.
It makes me happy to report that I was only up for 30 minutes cuddling the happiest baby EVER while he had his bottle.
So, since I had them all day Monday, we did many many things.
One of those was to start work on some Valentine's. Famke lasted a wee bit longer than the last time.
Jonge was dictating things for me to write on his.
With one of his 'gifts' he was working on, I asked if he wanted to sign it 'from' or 'love'. He wanted it to say 'love'. So, as I'm working on the 'love' (oooh. aren't we all?), Famke is leaning across the table with her face as close to the surface of the gift as mine is.
Since this is for Jonge, I'm saying it all out loud - for his sake:
"Happy Valentine's Day! Love _________"
And right there, Famke whispers very slowly and quietly, "God".
Words to live by. Out of the mouths of babes.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

Wouldn't it be great to get a picture of all four great grandchildren together to put in my mom's room at the nursing home?

All four kids just 'happened' to be seated on the floor together. But by the time I returned with my camera, Famke was exiting. She did come back, but it must have been that the thrill of sitting nicely together was over. And, Kado DOES have interesting ears, or so it seems.

Oh. And this is the nastiness that happened to poor Famke's little face. Since it no longer hurts, she thinks her owie is all gone. Although she did let me snap a picture of her gum.

Cookie Boys!

They look so SERIOUS!
One would never know what a GREAT time we had making cookie boys!
Uncle Evan came, which made it possible.
In the inbetween time of being the mom to being the grandma, I learned that things go better WITHOUT frosting.
And, just so we all had matching rolling pins, I got four blocks from the block box, oiled them with cooking oil, and away we rolled!

Such a Sweetheart

Yesterday, this boy slept most of the day.
Today? Not so much.
He LOVES to smile, except when he sees my camera.
Then he just waits in anticipation of the flash, which on nice sunny days like today, does not appear.
He giggles for Pake, but not for me.
I get soft coos and lots of nuzzling.

Kado has a wide array of faces.
He is just TOO fun!

I'm having lots of fun with this one!
I was a wee bit concerned that with a 2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old there just would not be the time to lavish on this one.
But, there is PLENTY of time!
Everyone seems to be thriving and happy.

I know. I know!
So many pictures today.
But, just so you know, I think I took just as many pictures of the grape vine in the backyard as I did of the grand kids.
Fun times. They will grow up SO quickly. This I know full well.
