I had almost forgotten that I had a back yard.
This summer was just too hot to spend much time out there.
But now it is cooler.
And I have a dog.
So I am in the yard. A lot.

I'm also aware of which brown holes contain moles.
And where all the fresh piles of bunny poo are.
A skunk lives somewhere close by, but I really don't care to find out where.

The sedum looks very nice in these pictures. It doesn't look so nice in the yard. Things got out of hand quickly.
But the bees, bugs, butterflies, and moths seemed fine with it.
The moth with the yellow on it's wings? Oh so very pretty. It appears to have a double set of wings.
I looked for - but did not find - a praying mantis.
Have I mentioned lately how I want a fenced in yard?
Oh? I did, did I? Because I do. I really really do.

You certainly got some nice pictures back there.
Gorgeous photos! And I know EXACTLY what you mean about a fenced in yard. That's one of the reasons we finally had to give up Chloe dog because I couldn't juggle walking her for potty and keeping the little ones safe inside...or juggling a double stroller with her on a leash...and...well, the list was endless. Now it's fenced in completely but she's having the time of her life in Texas...THEY have a doggie door so she can come and go as she pleases. I couldn't ask for her back.
The holes might be from the skunks digging for grubs.
A favorite meal of theirs, except for the dry dog foods and leftovers I set out for them.
Skunks won't bother you if you don't startle or scare them.
We walk right near them.
It's my little doggies I have to be careful about.
They want to chase them, so I have to observe the yard before I let them out.
Nice pictures. :0)
We have a fenced yard and I am so glad. Most Minnesotans hate fenced yards. I don't get it.
